Submit exhibition proposal
Blakely Hall is always seeking proposals for art exhibitions that align with the Highlands Council mission. Preference is given to regionally local artists and groups. We offer occasional juried calls for themed exhibitions. Exhibitions are generally planned several months to years in advance. Please keep this in mind when proposing shows – timing flexibility is appreciated.
Highlands Council accepts exhibition proposals in two general categories: proposals for independent artists and proposals for curated groups and/or themed exhibitions. Proposals should be submitted via the form below and must include a proposal narrative (see details below) as well as images of sample work. All complete proposals will be reviewed, and applicants will be notified with questions and if a proposal has been accepted.

Exhibition Proposal Narrative
- Your narrative should include the suggested title of your exhibition. This title may be amended up to the time it is required for printing the promotional material.
- Describe the concept or theme of the work.
- For artists only: Describe your current work, as well as your proposed work, noting any significant new direction your work will take. Please include links to your website/social media.
- For independent curators only: Discuss your capacity to execute the exhibition.
- Provide information about how the work connects to the mission of Highlands Council.
- Include details of any supplementary public programs or presentations. We encourage artists and curators to propose additional artist talks, panel discussions, or workshops geared towards engaging the broader community.
- Indicate whether the submitted images will be included in the exhibition you are proposing or are representative only.
